The nation of Jahhne (jah-HA-nae) lies within the borders of the Tempec Forest, a massive woodland area in the northern regions of Western Glashia and home to the largest community of Fpathen in all the lands. Jahhne is bordered by the Gunorak Mountains and the Northlands to the north, the Innocus Mountains to the east, and the Kingdom of Langington and the Inner Sea to the south and west
The governing body of Jahhne is the Council of Twelve, found within the capital city of Vallalia. The Council of Twelve consists of eleven Fpathen of great power, and a single Mnoethen that presides as the Guardian of the First House of the Council of Twelve. Currently, Emperor Dolinar nae Osharow retains title as the Guardian of the First House in the Council, even though he hasn't been seen by the inhabitants of Jahhne for almost three hundred years. Rumor has it that the Emperor returned to his home in the fabled city of Abberath, located in a magical valley somewhere within the Innocus Mountains.
The remaining eleven Guardians keep a close eye on the daily activities of the inhabitants of Jahhne, as well as those nations that surround and border the Tempec Forest. It is said that the power of the Council of Twelve even extends to the Fpathen and Pseithen that reside in Torresan and Kinashae.
Although an alliance or treaty has not been signed between Jahhne and any of the nations of Western Glashia, the Council of Twelve does allow free trade between Jahhne and the Kingdoms of Jordyen and Langington, as well as Cannovan and the Independent State of Western Glashia via Jahhne's coastal towns on the Inner Sea. Because of the downfall of the Province of Arvandus and King Tearsac of the Plains, Jahhne has decided that it will trade with the newly established Arvandian Commonweath.
Although the Fpathen of Jahhne respect the craftsmanship of the Dervatear, they will not trade with the nation of Tsan or the Dervatear from the Independent State. Instead, goods must be sold to merchant's in one of the three territories that Jahhne will trade with (the Kingdoms of Jordyen and Langington, the nation of Cannovan), and then sold to buyers in Jahhne, usually at a tremendous mark-up. But the Fpathen have been known to say that one can not set a price on an item of perfection, such a Dervatear sword or suit of armor, which Fpathen magicians can later enchant. And it is well known throughout Western Glashia that a weapon or piece of armor crafted by a Dervatear smith and the enchanted by a Fpathen mage is a rarity of excellence, an item to be savored but for a brief moment and then locked away forever.
